Welcome back Harold.

It has been a long time since Harold visited our school. We were so excited to see him again and his friend Mrs Parke. Life Education works in schools to educate and inspire children and young peole to make positive choices. Today we got to learn one of the things that makes us unique, our personality. We also learnt the colour zone and making good choices or poor choices from reading different statements.
Harold has woken up from his long sleep. We really admire his eye mask, it's so cool. It has tiger stripes.
We got to answer questions from Mrs Parke. McKenna and JJ are both making the good choices, by raising their hand.
Introducing the colour zones. They tell us if we're good to go or running slow, need to take caution or stop. When we're feeling like any of these zones, we have the tools to help make us feel better.
In pairs we were given cards to work out whether it was a good choice or poor choice.
Aleyria and Joelle have read the statements and thinking carefully where to place the cards on the board.
Ratai knows where to place her card, making a good choice.
Sione and Jahnaeyah have finally decided where to place their cards.

New front gate.

You might have noticed in the front of our Team 2 block, is a brand new front gate. Now it makes it more easier for whanau and friends to use this entrance for drop offs and pick ups. Thank you to Mr Shaw, Mr Andrews, Mr Jacobsen and the contractors involved for clearing the hedges, installing the new gate and locks. Greatly appreciate all your hard work and time to carry out and undertake this extensive job. We also have two new seating benches, outside Room 26 and Room 25.

Matariki Day with Team 2

In June/July, Matariki re-appears in the dawn sky – signalling the start of the Māori New Year - Te Matahi o te Tau. It is a time to celebrate new life, to remember those who’ve passed, plan for the future and to spend time with whānau and friends to enjoy kai (food), waiata (song), tākaro (games)and haka. On the final day of Term 2, we had a whole school celebration for Matariki. In Team Two we got to experience making glitter playdough, paper kites, baking star cookies and using clay to create our own wakas. It was an fun-filled day. Special thank you to Mrs Wilson for joining us and taking part with our celebration.

Farewell Mrs Savi.

Today we sadly had to say farewell to the lovely Mrs Savi, who has been with our class this Term. Mrs Savi has been an awesome and very kind support worker who helped us to become confident with our reading and writing. Encouraging us to do our best and not to give up. Many thanks for all your support, words of encouragement, consistent praise and laughter. We will miss you a lot. From myself and the wonderful children of Room 25, we wish you all the best for the future.

Stardome Observatory & Planetarium.

Our inquiry for Term 2 is "Watch this Space". Team 2 went on an awesome school trip to the Stardome Observatory and Planetarium. John our friendly tour guide/tutor gave a very informative presentation on day and night, moon phases, tides and seasons. Khaing-May, Savannah and Taniela got to role play as the moon, earth and sun. They all played their parts really well. Next we got to explore the Space Gallery and exhibits. Our last stop was at the Plantarium, where we all got to sit back and got ready for blast off for an amazing ride into space with Tycho the space travelling dog, to learn about night and day, space travel and so much more. Here are some great highlights of our amazing day out.
