First day of swimming for Term 1.

Our first day of swimming for Term 1. We were so excited and happy. Last week, Team 2 didn't go because of lockdown, where the whole of the Auckland region went into Level 2, until now where it changed back to Level 1. We are all looking forward to getting ourselves confident in the water and developing our new swimming skills.
Walking to the pools on a very hot sunny afternoon.
As we eagerly wait, Ms Teleso signs our classroom in, before we enter the pools. This also includes the non-swimmers too.
Taylor, McKenna, Aleyria, Jahnaeyah, Ratai, Kyra-Lee, Olivia, Timothy all listening for the next instructions from the swimming instructor.
Olivia, Kyra-Lee, Timothy, Ratai and Jahnaeyah have lots smilies in the water.
JJ, Semisi and Sione with their flutter boards and enjoying the lessons.

Learning from home.

Timothy and Sione have been doing some great work from their learning packs at home. Timothy has found the missing numbers on his maths worksheet. He's also writing his story, using simple sentences with support from the blue butterfly card. Sione likes colouring in and drawing the nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty.

Duffy Theatre performs at Pt England School.

We were lucky to have the Duffy Show come to our school to perform. Did you know that the Duffy Theatre has been performing for over 25 years and it's a brand new show every year!! The shows message emphasizes, that it's to cool to read and cool to achieve. Our focus school wide theme is "Cherish our Treasures" Tiaki Taonga. Books are a valuable treasure, because it helps us learn new things like new words, instills the joy of reading and makes stronger connections with our families. Thank you Duffy Theatre for a very entertaining and enjoyable show.

Our Friday Clubs with Team 2.

Welcome to Room 25's first blog post for 2021. Every Friday is Clubs Day in Team 2. All classrooms in our Team 2 space are divided into four groups - board games/activities with Ms Teleso, gardening/art with Miss Davis, blogging with Mrs Carter and cooking with Ms Gaston. We get to experience different activites and have lots fun. Later on, we rotate and change and get to try something new. Here are some photos taken on the day. Joelle and Olivia helping out with cleaning our outside area. Also lending a helping hand are McKayla and Tevita. Sia, Pita, Aie Sorn and Corenilias all tidying up the garden and getting into the dirt. Semisi and his friend Suliano like playing with the dinosaurs. Deizhan loves dinosaurs and he can name every dinosaur, that's impressive. Deizhan and Koloti they have both creatively built, a dinosaur enclosure. Evoron enjoys building with lego. Ema and Taniela playing a game of Snakes and Ladders.

Healthy School Lunches Programme.

Today the whole school was supplied free lunches, funded by the NZ Government. This is a healthy school lunches programme which is continual thoroughout the year. We are very thankful to be part of it as with our neighbouring schools, in the Manaiakalani cluster. Ka Ora, Ka Ako is about being healthy and well in order to be in a good place to learn. Savannah, Ratai, Taylor and Jahnaeyah all tucking into healthy lunch of wraps, chopped carrot and a blueberry muffin. Our friends Islay-May and Ema enjoying their lunches too.
